Additional funding for settlement services in the Prairies
Case management is a comprehensive approach to settle government-assisted refugees and other high-needs and vulnerable newcomers facing multiple and complex barriers to integrate. This can include victims of gender-based violence, disadvantaged youth, and LGBTQ2 individuals. It is typically provided during a client’s first 12 to 18 months in Canada. The approach generally involves a comprehensive needs and assets assessment and settlement plan, regular monitoring of progress and check-ins at set intervals, as well as personalized and intensive supports based on each client’s needs.
